The Origins of the Monastery of St. Septimus
The Saint Septimus, canonised by the Vlandian/Imperial Church of Makerism, however before his charitable image had been immortalised by the church of Makerism, he had been a simple man, born into a somewhat wealthy family on the Southern Coast of the Empire, prior to the Calradian Empires dissolution, 100 or so years in the past. Saint Septimus is known for his charitable deeds and philanthropy to the poor and misfortunate people of Ortysia, during the catastrophic period of the Imperial civil war.
The Monastery of Saint Septimus was constructed over a 100 plus years after the passing of Saint Septimus, and 50 years since he was canonised by the Imperial/Vlandian Church of Makerism. The Monastery was constructed by Wandregisilus almost two decades ago, the current Abbot of the Monastery of Saint Septimus, prior to the construction of the Monastery, the land was littered with ruins, left as a remanent of the crusades against the Aserai. A time before the present, Wandregisilus led a similar life to Saint Septimus, being born into moderate wealth. From an early age Wandregisilus read the teachings of Saint Septimus, with his charitable work with the poorer echelons of society at front and centre of his written teachings, this sent Wandregisilus on a journey to spread the teachings of Saint Septimus. This journey led Wandregisilus to the Gulf of Charas, in which he established the Monastery of Saint Septimus, along with several pilgrims from the Imperial city of Ortysia.
