The Territory
Byzaris Post has a rich and turbulent history, having changed hands multiple times. Originally established as a modest fishing settlement by the Aserai tribes, it was later seized by the Vlandians during the Crusades. Today, the Imperials control the area, transforming it into a thriving trading hub. The lands surrounding Byzaris Post have been fiercely contested, especially after the recent discovery of valuable iron deposits, further intensifying the struggle for control. The Imperials assert the strongest claim, citing an ancient imperial outpost that once stood on these lands, now lying in ruins, as evidence of their historical ties to the region.The Safe Zones
A safe zone prohibits any form of aggression against its owner. This includes actions like firing arrows or entering the safe zone with hostile intent. There are two exceptions to this rule:- War Ticket: If a War Ticket is accepted, it nullifies all safe zones, allowing unrestricted combat.
- Owner-Initiated Hostilities: If the faction that owns the safe zone initiates hostilities against another faction and then retreats into the safe zone, the safe zone protections are temporarily suspended. This means the safe zone no longer offers protection from retaliation. However, this is challenging to enforce because it can be difficult to determine if the safe zone owner truly initiated the hostilities, especially if attacks are made from within the safe zone’s walls (e.g., firing arrows). Additionally, the timing of when the safe zone protections should be reinstated after hostilities cease is unclear. To avoid disputes, it’s generally required that a War Ticket be active if such situations are likely to occur.
The monastery and the vineyard do not benefit from any safe zones.
