What has happened in the world this year? Here you can find information that might relate to your realm and offer you some topics or points of interest for RP.
Emperor Velasius is dead. He was found in his royal chambers by his maids, and his death remains shrouded in mystery. Not long after, the Imperial legates swiftly took charge of the ailing empire and rallied its troops against the Khuzait onslaught. This follows long, gruesome months of inactivity from the Imperial Court. Many citizens blame the legates for the Emperor's death, yet they look to them to save their cities and homes. Leading this coalition of generals is Legate Lucius, a charismatic man with traditional imperial values. Despite significant losses against the Khuzait hordes, the empire now rallies and stands strong to defend what remains of its legacy.
After Emir Hazim's death, his two eldest sons, Namrud and Qabeel, found themselves openly opposing each other to ascend to their father's place after his untimely death. By tradition, the eldest son should inherit his father's titles, yet Namrud has failed to rally enough support to do so, especially after the Vizier, Moatassem, openly showed his support for the younger son, Qabeel. The two have amassed sizable armies and engaged in skirmishes several times, yet both fear a bloody battle that would leave the emirate vulnerable to outside threats. This conflict is quickly boiling down to the seizure and control of vital trade posts along the Qirhaat River.
A new king rises in Vlandia; Prince Eadric was crowned recently upon the death of his father, King Cedric. This comes as a pleasant surprise to the realm's clergy, as the dream of a holy war is reignited within their fervent hearts. Now, King Eadric finds himself in a position of power, to either pursue a holy war as his grandfather once did, or turn his gaze towards other endeavors in the Calradic heartlands to expand his young kingdom. One thing remains certain: Prince Eadric is an ambitious man, and his close ties to the clergy leave little room for imagination as to what he might do next.
